Facebook In The Movies

Ok, so maybe this post doesn’t have much to say on topic as most of my posts, but not everything has to does it? Besides, it still deals with Social Media, stuff that if you frequent this blog deals with in many ways. So, what’s the story then? Well, you read it right, Facebook is being highlighted in not one, but two movies that are ironically coming out just about the same time as each other. So you’ll be sure to get a full dose of Facebook in the movies when they’re out!
Catfish and The Social Network tell different stories, so there is no reason to compare them. One shows the experience two people have as it leads to meeting each other in real life and the other tells a story of the beginning of Facebook. I won’t go much into detail as the trailers on iTunes or YouTube does a well enough job of that. What I’ve seen though is quite interesting and worth a look.

You Are The Butter To My Bread...
Ok, so maybe the title of this post wasn’t what Paul Child said to his beloved Julia in the movie Julie & Julia, but in the end that is what rang in my mind. Tonight, my beloved brought home a movie that unknowingly meant a lot to the things I had been focused on as of late in life, mainly blogs. I had no idea going into it that a blog was a main component of this movie. Quite frankly I was taking a break
from staring at a computer working to get in some nice family time after
dinner. All I knew was that it was about Julia Child in some way and knew it had to be a good family oriented watch. As the story unfolded and a blog became a center point, I couldn’t stop watching. Incidentally, the film is the first major motion picture based on a blog.

Don't You Hate When This Happens?
I had an appointment this afternoon for a claims adjuster to come out and review some hail damage on our roof, like everyone in our area. This appointment was made two weeks ago. I get a call this morning (automated) to call and have it rescheduled. No other reason why. After talking to people on the other end, not only do they not know what I’m talking about, I get transferred to someone’s voice mail and am forced to call again, and of course re-explain everything, and finally someone wants to reschedule me another week and half out rather than just putting me at the top of the list to be seen next, because it would be too inconvenient, inefficient and involve many many people on their end to do that. (Yes, those words!!) WHAT??!!
I called my insurance agent to help. Still no call back yet.

John Malott - Who Is He? What Secret Didn't He Tell Us?
Yup. there was definitely something he left out. Something he doesn’t share up front when you first start to listen to any of his presentations. Then once you hear it, your jaw about drops, and even he says you’re free to leave now since he delivered what it is he had to deliver.
But, let’s back up just a bit. Firstly, who is he? Professionally, as known by some, John Malott is a highly successful Executive Director, and Regional Manager in Pre-Paid Legal Services, Inc. (PPL). He is a father of four (girls!), husband and resides in Wisconsin. His rise to success in PPL has brought fame and fortune. He travels the country spreading the word about PPL and his story. Huge crowds sell out venues when they know he is coming and there is never enough of his time once he is there. He has become highly sought after not just for his speaking abilities, but for what he trains other Associates on and how to do what he has done.

Find Out How Your Blog Looks On The Apple iPad
Are you curious to know what your blog might look like on Apple’s new iPad? With more than 700,000 of them in people’s hands now over opening weekend, you should. People will be blogging from them, and reading other people’s blogs too, and with the all too important first few seconds for them to decide if their time is worth it to spend on your blog or not, you need to know.
You can go check out what your blog will actually look like on a virtual iPad. Go see my blog on it, here. Once there, you’ll notice that everything on my site is clickable like on any browser. You can enter your blog’s URL at the top and see yours too. Hint: Click the top border of the virtual iPad to change landscape or portrait modes.
Also, if you have Flash objects on your blog, you’ll notice that it might work, but in reality on the iPad it will not, since it does not support that at the moment. You’ll just have to wait until a jail break version is out.
